The entrepreneure behind Akroche Tatuk

After completing a Laval University degree to teach history, I went on to work in hospitality at Château Frontenac in Québec. In 2012, Akroche Tatuk came into the picture.

Wanting to learn crochet to relax, I asked a friend to teach me the basic crochet stitches. I then started to perfect my technique through YouTube videos and tutorials. I quickly ended up with A LOT of hats. In 2012 I started selling them, and, one thing leading to another, I started an online shop. Pattern writing followed in 2015.

In 2019, I leveraged my maternity leave to push my business further. My objective was for it to become my main source of income. I mustered the courage to participate in an investor reality show in Québec titled “Dans l’oeil du dragon” (our version of “Dragon’s Den” or “Shark Tank”) in order to boost Akroche Tatuk’s visibility.

Today, Akroche Tatuk, specializes in winter accessories as well as beginner-to-intermediate level patterns that are simple and quick to work up. My catalog also offers shawls, pullovers, ecofriendly projects, home accessories, and more.

Many of my patterns are offered in both crochet and knit.
